Ensure your backup power is ready when you need it most—without the hauling fees.
A portable or standby generator is your insurance policy against unpredictable Pennsylvania weather. But when it won't start, getting it to a repair shop is incredibly difficult. Dealers charge hefty round-trip pickup and delivery fees just to get it out of your garage, costing you a premium before repairs even begin.
Iron Valley Small Engines saves you the hassle and the hauling fees. We travel straight to your home or job site in Bethel, Myerstown, and across Lebanon and Berks counties to service your backup power on-site.
Our On-Site Generator Services Include:
Full engine tune-ups (oil, spark plugs, filters)
Carburetor cleaning and ultrasonic fuel system restoration
Voltage output testing and regulator troubleshooting
Stale fuel draining and tank flushes
Battery testing and replacement
We service Generac, Honda, Briggs & Stratton, Champion, and all major portable generator brands. Keep your lights on without paying a transport penalty just to get your machine to a shop.

The problems we fix most
You don't need to know the part name. Tell us what the generator is doing (or not doing), and diagnosis is our job.
- Won't start when you need it
- Won't start after sitting with old fuel in the tank
- Starts, then dies
- Runs fine, but nothing happens when you plug in
- Surging or hunting idle (revving up and down on its own)
- Bogs down or stalls when you plug something in
- Electric start clicks but won't crank
- Leaking gas
If your problem isn't on the list, call anyway and describe what it's doing. Winter equipment acting up too? See snow blower repair.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Our rates: a flat trip fee of $40 (under 20 miles) or $50 (20+ miles), plus $98.50 per hour of labor and the cost of any parts. Most service calls take one to two hours on-site. We don't quote total job pricing before diagnosing your equipment, but our mobile service typically comes out more economical than the all-in cost of hauling to a shop.
-
We do our best to respond quickly during active outages, but availability depends on weather and scheduling. The best strategy is preventative service before storm season — most generator failures during outages come from stale fuel, weak batteries, or dirty carburetors, all preventable with annual maintenance.
-
We carry common wear parts for most portable and standby generators — spark plugs, batteries, fuel filters, and standard carburetor components. If your generator needs a specialty part, we'll diagnose on-site, order what's needed, and return to finish the job at no additional trip charge. Your generator never leaves your property.
Fixing it shouldn’t be harder than starting it.
